Hi, I’m John, and welcome to my Substack!
I’m a ‘76 baby that grew up in Detroit in the 1980s. In 1989 we moved to San Diego, California, and the rest is history. I’m married to the love of my life (she’s a millennial, but I still love her 😜) and I have four amazing sons, each with their unique talents, and challenges 😆… life is crazy busy, but I still make time for watching my favorite flicks from the past, listening to 80s and 90s jams, and hunting for my favorite vinyl records, toys, and other nostalgic things.
On social media I’m known as That 80s Dude, and I launched Nostalgia Nation as a love letter to my generation. I’ve also got a book that was inspired by this newsletter - Nostalgia Nation: The Definitive Chronicle of Growing Up Gen X.
