Bonkers was verboten in our household—my parents were what you'd call in today's parlance "crunchy." If it wasn't made with whole grains or crossed some vague sugar threshold, then I was out of luck.

Which of course meant I sought it out like Stanley did Livingston. I was asking my friends all. the. time. to share theirs and was more than a little annoying about it.
